Jaxson’s is a beloved local institution, and I can wholeheartedly recommend it. This was my first visit, and I could immediately see where Cherry Smash drew its inspiration from. I opted for a waffle for dinner, and to my surprise, they serve complimentary popcorn when you’re seated. You’ll find some genuinely tasty fried food here, which, in my opinion, strikes a nice balance between indulgence and healthiness.

It had been years since my last visit to Jaxson’s; Monroe’s spirit was with us this time. Our server was speedy and efficient, and the food was both well-prepared and generously portioned. I particularly enjoyed the daily special soup, which was a delicious minestrone. While there are more budget-friendly options nearby, a bit of nostalgia combined with good food and service, not to mention those enormous ice cream sundaes, goes a long way. Don’t miss out; make sure to stop by Jaxson’s if you’re in town.

The service at Jaxson’s is top-notch, and the staff is exceptionally friendly. The atmosphere is uniquely charming. I personally am not a big fan of their homemade regular cola and punch, as I find them a bit lacking in flavor. Additionally, the sharing fee isn’t the most appealing aspect, but it does make sense given the generous portions. However, the ice cream is exceptional, and the towering shortcake sundae is an absolute delight. Despite these minor drawbacks, we thoroughly enjoyed our experience; it’s a fun place to be. We’ve been coming here periodically for many years.

Every visit to Jason’s feels like a nostalgic journey back to my childhood in Dania. This place has done a remarkable job preserving the wonderful memories of that time. The ice cream here sets a standard that others can only aspire to match. The atmosphere is truly one-of-a-kind, with fascinating items on display everywhere you look. The waitstaff is consistently polite and friendly, making us feel at home on every visit. While I now live elsewhere, Dania will forever be my hometown, and I’m grateful for the chance to return to Jackson’s whenever I’m in the area. Allow me to share a little story: during my Dania childhood, I played Little League baseball at Frost Park. Our coach promised us ice cream after every victorious game. Initially, it was Dairy Queen, located just a few blocks north (now a taco stand). However, for the playoffs, our coach promised a trip to Jackson’s if we clinched the championship. That was all the motivation we needed, and we emerged victorious. We were rewarded with the best ice cream in town, and even today, I believe it’s the finest in all of Florida. My love for Jason’s ice cream endures. While I must admit that the prices have risen a bit too much for my liking, the famous Jumbo Sundae is no longer in my budget. Nevertheless, I still return for special occasions to enjoy a scoop or a classic sundae. And rest assured, the popcorn is still complimentary, just as it should be.
